🌟 Run for Office in the IALHA 2023 Election! 🌟
Are you passionate about the Andalusian or Lusitano? Are you looking for a way of becoming involved in your registry, member organization or A/L shows? The nomination process for the IALHA 2023 election cycle is about to begin, and we’re counting on individuals like you to step forward and become engaged.
We believe that every region and interest deserves a voice on the governing body of the IALHA. By running for office, you can be that voice and bring new perspectives and fresh ideas to the table. Together, we can build a strong, inclusive association that represents the diverse aspirations of our members.
From July 5th to August 15th, we invite you to consider serving on the Board of Directors, Registry Board, or Audit Board. As a Full Member, 19 years old or older, owning a purebred or half-Andalusian, you are eligible to run for any Board Regional Director position. Officers and Registry Board qualifications differ slightly.
Not sure if you qualify or want to learn more about each role? Check out the bylaws starting at bylaw 3.02 for detailed qualification requirements and descriptions of each position.
Attendance at the first board meeting each year is required in person, with the 2024 meeting scheduled for January 27th and 28th (location to be determined). However, the remaining meetings can be attended remotely via videoconference, making it more convenient for individuals from various regions to actively participate. The commitment of our elected volunteers is crucial to the success of the IALHA.
As an affiliate of USEF, all IALHA BOD members must be current in SafeSport. To learn more, visit https://ialha.org/usef-safe-sport/
The elected positions will begin on January 1, 2024, and last for the term specified in the table below. This is your chance to contribute to the continued growth and prosperity of the IALHA.
The 2023 Nominations Window will open July 5th and officially closes at 11:59, Pacific Time, on August 15th. No additional nominations will be accepted after that date.
Self-nominations ARE allowed. Anonymous nominations are NOT permitted.
Based on IALHA Bylaws, a person must be a voting member (Full Member) of IALHA at the time they are nominated for an elected seat. People who are not members at the time of nomination will be notified; they may renew their membership and then be re-nominated and/or nominate themselves.
Members may only run for one position at a time, so if nominated for more than one, they must select which to be on the ballot for.
Together, let’s forge a brighter future for our breeds. Take action today by nominating yourself or encouraging fellow members to run for office. Our association thrives when we come together to share our collective knowledge and commitment.
