REINING

Reining Rules: USEF Reining Rules

Ranch Pleasure Rules: ASHA Rules EV-110
Ranch Pleasure Patterns: Open, Amateur, and Youth – ASHA pattern
Markers will be setup at the following distances to designate gait changes:
1) Extended Walk – 75 feet
6) Ordinary Walk – 30 feet
2) Trot – 120 feet
7) Lope – 150 feet
3) Extended Trot – 240 feet
8) Extended Lope – 200 feet
4) Lope – 150 feet
9) Trot – 90 feet 10) Stop and Back
5) Stop and Reverse

PERFORMANCE HALTER

Performance Halter Rules: AQHA VRH
Performance Halter Patterns: Open, Amateur and Youth – Horses shall enter the arena at a relaxed walk in a counterclockwise direction. Failure to completely clear the gate at a walk shall require the horse to reenter at the proper walk. The horse shall then strike a trot until reaching its designated position in line, as directed by the ringmaster or judge(s). When asked, the exhibitor shall walk the horse from the rail to the Ring Master. At the direction of the Ring Master, the exhibitor will walk the horse parallel to the long side of the arena toward the judge(s) for a minimum of thirty (30) feet, turn the horse in either direction, without stopping, and walk the horse back to the starting point [away from the judge(s)]. Without stopping, the exhibitor will turn the horse in either direction and trot the horse parallel to the long side of the arena toward the judge(s) and past the judge(s) for a minimum of sixty (60) feet. The exhibitor will then turn the horse in either direction and trot back to the judge(s) position, where the horse will then be presented to the judge(s).

ALL AROUND WESTERN AWARDĀ 

The IALHA All-Around Open Western Horse is the highest point-earning horse entered in the OPEN Western Division Classes. To be eligible, the same horse/rider team must compete in Performance Halter and Reining and any other combination of the remaining classes: Working Cow Horse, Western Trail, and Ranch Pleasure.
Points are based on a 9 point scale, awarded 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 if there are nine or more entries in a class. If there are fewer than 9 entries points shall be awarded based on the number of entries (e.g. 4 in a class: 1st receives 4 points, 2nd receives 3 points, etc.)
Tie breaker criteria in the case of a tie for Champion:
Highest score in the Reining class
Highest score in the Trail class
Highest score in the Cowhorse class
Number of Supreme All-Around classes entered
The IALHA Open All-Around Open Western Horse Award purse* and prizes:
Champion – $700, Trophy saddle, Champion Trophy buckle, and Bob Hadley trophy
Reserve Champion – $300, Reserve Champion trophy buckle
