JC Plumona “Mona” and JC Espirital “Miss Lucy” are full sisters by El Espiritu (Gaucho III x Legitima V) out of Plumon M8. They were bred and born on Jennifer Ann Coyle Johnson’s farm, JC Andalusians, in central Virginia. They were born almost exactly one year apart – Miss Lucy on April 1, 2013 and Mona on April 5, 2012. This photo was captured at the Lighthouse water obstacle at Tryon International Equestrian Center Tryon, NC, where they earned 2022 USEF National Champion Intermediate Horse Pair in Combined Driving. Photographer Ben Johnson is Jenni Johnson’s husband. He is the Director of Technology for Blue Pixel Creates, an experiential production & marketing agency. He has been a photographer since junior high school, where he learned the craft from his father who was a photojournalist in a previous career. As a “horse show husband” his primary task is photographing the classes, occasionally holding a horse, and often reaching into a cooler!
