IALHA offers more than 30 awards for both pure and partbred horses!
There are 20 annual awards for purebred horses competing at IALHA shows, and three annual prizes for Half-Andalusian horses competing at IALHA shows.
Twelve annual high point awards are given for IALHA horses competing at open shows (e.g., Eventing, Hunter/Jumper, Western Pleasure, Dressage).
Additionally, there are two lifetime achievement awards: El Premio de Merito (100% performance) and El Premio de Oro (75% performance points and 25% halter points). Lifetime achievement awards are given to both pure and partbred IALHA horses.
There is no limit on the number of awards nominations per horse, and horses may simultaneously compete for annual awards and accumulate points towards a lifetime achievement award. The nomination fee for an annual award is just $25 per award. Lifetime achievement nomination fees are a one-time $75, though years prior to the nomination year can be reinstated for $25/year.
Horses nominated must be registered with the IALHA (Purebred or Half-Andalusian) and owned by a member of IALHA. IALHA Membership must be held and dues paid during the entire period horse/rider are competing for awards. Nomination Fees must be paid in full with submitted nomination form.
Only points gained after IALHA membership and awards nomination have been received at the IALHA office will be considered for these programs.
The awards program competition year runs from October 1 of one year to September 30th of the next year. Awards program participants record their horse’s earned points throughout the competition year and send their official “competition points report” to the IALHA office by October 4 so points can be tallied before the National Show (when the award winners are announced).
