IALHA Impact Award

Do you know someone who’s making a difference in our association who deserves to be recognized? Do you know a horse that exemplifies the Andalusian or Lusitano breed?

For many years, the IALHA has been recognizing members and IALHA registered horses for their achievements and their contribution to our community with the annual IALHA Impact Awards.

Each year, the nomination process asks for a description of the Impact the candidate has had.

For example, if nominating a horse:

  • What awards or recognitions has the horse received?
  • Have they achieved distinction in a discipline(s) or sport?
  • How has their progeny been successful?

If nominating member, describe how they

  • have acted as an ambassador,
  • represented our association in a positive light,
  • had a positive impact on our community, or
  • represent our association in a specific sport, or discipline.

The description of how they contribute to the mission of our association is what the committee will utilize to select the winners.

So tell a story. The more detailed the better.  If desired, up to 2 additional supporting documents may be attached as well.

At least one photograph and a short biography will be requested from the winners. Portions of the nomination write-up may be used in biographies of the winners as well.

All current members can nominate themselves or be nominated by another member. Youth members are those 18 years old and younger. Candidates who are not selected may be re-nominated for the same or another impact award the following year. Any IALHA registered horse is eligible.

Nominations open each year in the late summer and are due early fall so that winners may be selected and recognized at our National Show.  However, nominations may be submitted at any time, and will be saved for the next selection period.
