Lifetime Achievement Award – Mediterraneo’s Venezia

Mediterraneo’s Venezia, aka “Vinny”, a 2011 IALHA registered, purebred Andalusian mare by Mediterraneo V (Gutierrez Andalusians) out of Espanola 1988, achieved the IALHA El Premio de Merito Lifetime Achievement Award at the end of the 2017 competition year. Vinny is also registered as a PRE Andalusian with the Foundation for the Pure Spanish Horse. She has earned her scores at USEF/UDSF- recognized Dressage competitions and at IALHA regional championships during 2015-2017.

Vinny has been owned, trained, and shown by her Adult Amateur owner and rider, veterinarian Dr. Brenda Forsythe. Highlights of their career to date include 2016 USEF National Champion and Reserve Champion Horse of the Year, 2016 USEF Silver Stirrup Zone 10 Champion, 2016 Cal-Sho Dressage High Point Champion, and Cal-Sho Junior Horse High Point Champion for 2015 and 2016. The pair is currently leading the standings for 2017 USDF All-Breed awards for Adult Amateur and Vintage Cup Champions at Training Level Dressage with the Foundation for the Pure Spanish Horse, along with Dressage Association of Southern California 2017 Year-End High Point Champion Iberian.

Vinny is currently taking a competition break in anticipation of her first foal, by Donzell, due in February 2018. She will resume competition after weaning.
