1989… When big hair and shoulder pads were in vogue, MTV and walkmans were popular, and George Bush Sr was in the White House.
And IALHA registration fees were establishedā¦. Those same charges are in effect today.
Thatās right. Our registration prices have not been adjusted in over 30 years.
These rates were established when a gallon of gas was $0.97, a US Postage stamp was 25 cents and the average monthly rent was less than $450/month.
So much has happened since then: the millennium, 9-11, the internet, the rise of social media, and mobile phones. How and where we communicate, shop, work, watch TV and movies, and listen to music has changed…. list goes on.
Things are different in our industry, for our members, and for the IALHA as well. Operational expenses are significantly more than they were in ā89, and it is time to update our fees to reflect those changes. You can see how theyāll be moving in the table below. We’ve added some options that members have requested as well.
These will take effect on June 1, 2022. So, that means there is time to take advantage of the current charges for the next 3 months.Ā If you’ve been putting if off, act now! Get your paperwork submitted and payment sent by May 31st to lock in these 33-year-old registration prices.Ā
Lots has changed since 1989, but our commitment to accurate registration of Andalusians, Lusitanos, and half-bred horses has not. Updating our rates will help ensure that our quality processes continue to create value for our members for the next 30 years.
