The IALHA office will remain open despite physical closure – but staff will be working from home.
The IALHA has been actively monitoring the status of the COVID-19 pandemic and the potential effects on the IALHA office in order to protect the health and welfare of our staff.
Our three employees have been carefully following the Alabama Department of Public Health orders, maintaining physical distance from each other and observing all other recommended practices to reduce the risk of contracting or spreading the virus in the IALHA office.
Like many other states and communities in an effort to arrest the spread of COVID-19, the ADPH issued a new order on 4/3/20 with strict quarantine requirements, that will remain in effect until April 30th. This means that our staff will be required to remain at home except for essentials. We are currently working out the details for being able to work from home, in order to be able to continue to connect with you, our members.
Our phones (205-995-8900) will be forwarded, but preparing to serve our members remotely may take some time and replies and responses may take a little longer than usual. During this extremely challenging time, your board of directors has been diligent in its fiscal stewardship and has been implementing conservation measures to ensure the financial stability of the association. This includes an application for a Small Business Loan/Grant under the CARES act.
Getting through this crisis will take patience, stamina, and optimism from all of us. We know that it has affected all of you – the owners, trainers, veterinarians, farriers, show managers, retailers, and everyone who’s livelihood or interests are connected to the horse world.
